I was born into a spiritual family in Hawaii, and grew up exposed to energy healing, psychic mediumship and channeling. It was back then I knew that there is more to life than what we see in the physical world and that life does exist after death. Receiving messages from those on the other side, including my deceased father, was evidence enough to convince me that one’s spirit continues beyond this life, and that those who have passed can impact and help loved ones left behind; all one has to do is ask.
As a young child, I also learned energy healing using a method that originated in Japan, known as Johrei. Johrei focuses on healing by channeling Divine light through one’s hands to another with the intent to purify the spiritual body first. Johrei is based on the belief that healing/purifying the spiritual body first can benefit the physical/emotional aspects of a person.
I continued to use Johrei as a form of healing, but as I grew older and busier with life, my practice of Johrei and spiritual connection gradually dwindled. After marriage, having children and working as a lawyer for 30 years, I basically lost touch with my spirituality and my practice.
Although my law practice served me well, I felt a need to help others in a deeper and more profound way and eventually decided to journey down a different path. Not knowing where to begin, I was called to begin my journey intensely studying the Tarot for 18 months. During this time and the following 2 years, I traversed the path of self-discovery and self-healing. Suffice it to say, those years were not easy as I was forced to face the parts of me that were less than desirable, and which required me to work on myself! Wanting to add to my spiritual and personal development, I then went on to become an Intuitive Reiki Master.
I began to build my Reiki practice, and in a short period of time, my intuitive insights became stronger and clearer, on a personal level and when working with family and friends. Gradually, my Tarot and Oracle card readings became a common practice before and after a Reiki session. It wasn’t long before I had the calling to put myself out there, regardless if I felt ready or not. Putting my fears aside, Light Divine was created.
